Tucked under the bridge where the Intracoastal meets the sea, Sharky's has been Ocean Isle Beach's gathering place since 1990. What started as takeout and delivery has evolved into a waterfront destination where fresh Carolina seafood meets laid-back surf culture.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Back in 1990, Sharky’s opened its doors in Ocean Isle Beach offering pizza takeout and delivery — nothing fancy, just good food made right and brought to your door. But something about it stuck. People kept coming back. Word spread the way it only can in a small beach town — neighbor to neighbor, summer to summer.
A FAMILY THING
Ray met Sarah here and they built a life together — with Sharky’s at the center of all of it. Sharky’s, family, and a love for surfing. The kids grew up on the beach, learned to surf before they could drive, making memories on the beach and at the restaurant.

Surfing isn’t just a hobby around here — it’s a family value. The waves, the salt, the sand between your toes. That energy flows through everything at Sharky’s, from the decor on the walls to the laid-back vibe at every table.
A PLACE TO LAND
Over the years, Sharky’s has been a refuge for anyone looking to get away from it all. Whether you fly in, boat in, or just stumble across the causeway — once you’re here, you’re home. Some of the best people we’ve ever met found us the same way — including none other than Mr. Jimmy Buffett himself!
ONE SUMMER AT A TIME
Here’s the thing about a place that’s been around this long: the guests grow up too. The families who started coming in the nineties — their kids are adults now. Some of them are bringing their own kids. Sitting at the same tables, ordering the same things, telling the stories. “We used to come here every summer when I was little.” And now here they are, watching their own little ones do the same thing.
That’s the part that gets Ray more than anything — the fact that Sharky’s has become part of people’s actual family traditions. You can’t manufacture that. You can only earn it, one summer at a time.
36 YEARS & COUNTING
Three decades and one heck of a ride later — Sharky’s is still right here on the water. Same family, same adventure, and same community that made this place special to start with.
